Build Your Business and Help Veterans

Build Your Business and Help Veterans

HirePatriots is an association of businesses and veteran organizations across the United States. We participate in doing several great things for America, those who defend it, our fellow countrymen, and our individual enterprises.

HirePatriots has created a marketing strategy that promotes companies and associations and helps veterans at the same time.  This strategy is being used by companies all across America, from small businesses to giants like Verizon and Pepsi.

HirePatriots “cause marketing” plan increases web visitors; promotes continuous, free media exposure; connects you to millions on the social networks; dramatically improves your search engine results; and creates grassroots volunteers who market for you. Of course, it also allows you to recruit qualified veterans to fill your positions, at no cost.

HirePatriots has received the LEAD “Visionary Award” for stimulating local economies. President Bush gave us the “Congressional Medal of Merit.” President Obama gave us the “Presidents Call to Service Award.” And we were listed in G.I. Jobs’ Top 50.

Our unique website assists every U.S. demographic: Community residents, businesses, veterans and military personnel. – That is why we are one of the most popular websites in America.

Your membership will also support the other vital programs of our 501c3 non-profit, Patriotic Hearts: The training and placement of severely disabled veterans, Military Marriage Retreats, HirePatriots’ Vet Entrepreneur training program and our free 30 week Transitional Training program for US military personnel.

HirePatriots’ members receive their own hosted and customized HirePatriots site and URL, a banner on our home page and on our Full Time and One Day Job boards. Plus we provide continuous training and assistance in utilizing the site and our Cause Marketing strategy.

A one time, tax deductible donation to our non-profit is all that it takes to join are patriotic association. (Let’s discuss this privately.)

We look forward to sharing a purpose-filled and profitable relationship together.

Patriotic Veteran Programs

HirePatriots is a Program of Patriotic Hearts

Patriotic Hearts 501c3 Programs

HirePatriots is a program of Patriotic Hearts, a tax-exempt 501(c) 3 non-profit that is supported largely by charitable contributions. It is in “good standing” with the IRS.

It began as a response to a Marine who returned from Iraq to discover his wife and two small children living without utilities, due to his wife being laid off while he was deployed. He knocked on our founders’ door and asked: “Sir, Ma’am, I need to earn some money right away to get the electric and gas turned on in my home for my family. Do you have any work that I can do for you right now around your home or yard?”

Our U.S. military, particularly the lower and mid-range enlisted and their families, often endure extreme financial stress, coupled with multiple, lengthy deployments and the rigors of military life. These conditions elevate stress. It creates marital conflicts and reduces the effectiveness of those men and women in fulfilling their responsibilities on the battlefield or in support positions. – Financial stress endangers families and warriors lives.

In response to this burgeoning crisis, Patriotic Hearts has developed several programs. In recognition of the vital programs we provide President Bush presented us with the “Congressional Medal of Merit.” And President Obama recently awarded us the “Presidents Call to Service Medal.”

Green Veteran Villages: Energy self-sufficient housing and cooperative

HirePatriots: This is our most popular program. It creates daily and vocational opportunities for U.S. military: Active duty, Reserves, Guard, veterans and their spouses. This is a free job board for residents and businesses to hire their local military, veterans and their spouses. We currently have HirePatriots websites in 30 areas of the U.S. This popular program is quickly spreading into every state with the collaboration of veteran owned and patriotic businesses, as well as many passionate volunteers.

The goal of the HirePatriots program is to establish HirePatriots job boards in all 50 states, and in 150 regional areas. This will enable us to assist hundreds of thousands of U.S. Military: Active duty, Reserves, Guard, veterans and their spouses, every year.

One Day Jobs:

1) HirePatriots is an entirely unique and free national outreach. It provides a One Day job board for our U.S. military, veterans and their spouses. These are jobs posted primarily by patriotic U.S. residents who want a nearby G.I. or veteran to come to their home and help them with chores.

A) These One Day jobs fill a critical need for transitioning troops and veterans. With 900,000 unemployed U.S. veterans, as of this writing, HirePatriots’ One Day jobs give patriotic U.S. residents an opportunity to pitch in and temporarily employ them until they can find full time employment.

B) HirePatriots is valued by every branch of the United States Military.

C) Here are a few of the thousands of comments from those who post jobs and find jobs on HirePatriots.com: http://hirepatriots.com/blog/category/testimonials/

Full Time Jobs: HirePatriots does not want to create any hindrance for companies that desire to employ U.S. veterans. Any company may post jobs and search resumes for no cost on HirePatriots.com. The ultimate goal for HirePatriots is to succeed in helping every U.S. veteran to secure sustainable, full-time employment.

A) HirePatriots has a Full-Time job board exclusively for companies desiring to hire United States veterans and their spouses.  It utilizes cutting edge technology and is connected to tge social networks.

B) The popularity of this free program has made HirePatriots.com one of the most popular websites in America.

C) HirePatriots takes calls and emails from veterans looking for work every day. We refer them to hiring managers or residents that we know are hiring, advise them, recommend companies that are hiring, help them with their resumes, and even create blogs about them and their job search when it is needed.

Job Fairs: HirePatriots has hosted many job fairs for the U.S. military and veterans.  HirePatriots always seeks to have 100+ companies with relevant job openings attend these fairs. We conscientiously look for companies that have job openings that are to relevant military experience and who have a track record of hiring veterans.

HirePatriots has a stellar reputation with businesses across America and the world. And of course, we are highly regarded by the U.S. military.

In an effort to get transitioning troops to dialog with recruiters, we have volunteers escort transitioning military to appropriate booths and introduce them on a first name basis to the company recruiters.  We also create a relaxed atmosphere that makes people want to stay. Instead of the impersonal atmosphere of typical events like this, we try to create a comfortable, even home-like feel. We even provide free hot chocolate, coffee, milk and warm, fresh-baked cookies.

Veteran Entrepreneur Program: HirePatriots vigorously seeks to support veterans who have chosen to start their own businesses. We believe that this is crucial to the rebuilding of the American economy and to employing more of our transitioned U.S. military.

HirePatriots has created an award winning support program for American entrepreneurs that utilizes our higher cause to increase their visibility, brand and the numbers of people who know about their products or services. Our marketing program has been acclaimed in the national media as being one of our country’s most innovative and military friendly higher cause marketing strategies. (Most recently, we were touted in G.I. Jobs. — June 2011)

Severely Disabled Veteran Job Placement and Job Training: It is vitally important that those who sacrificed the most in their military service, the severely disabled, are not left unemployed. We have worked with Visual Connections and Verizon to create a job training facility and program for these wounded warriors. – First, we find computerized employment for these warriors that fit their abilities and knowledge. Then we use customized software to train them to overcome their handicaps and to fulfill these duties.

Green Veteran Village: Energy Self-Sufficient Housing Cooperative: Patriotic Hearts, our non-profit, has been offered land to build veteran housing. We are currently developing a unique program. It is a completely self-sufficient community for US veterans. It will utilize the most recent developments in green technology and energy.

The ultimate purpose of these new communities is to create a model for 21st housing.  Just as Tract housing was the model for the latter part of the 20th Century, we will create a new model for the 21st Century. Beginning with Green Veteran Villages, we will create a prototype for the development of self-sufficient, ecological communities across the world.

Patriotic Hearts Military Family Programs

Our military’s emotional and psychological health, as well as their professionalism is largely dependent upon the health of their relationships with their immediate family members. The divorce rate has risen as high as 90% on bases with frequent combat deployments. Military wives call it “The Plague.” In an effort to create healthy military families, Patriotic Hearts has created 3 distinct but united programs:

Welcome Home Parties:  Patriotic Hearts hosts all-day picnics for recently returned combat battalions. These include barbeques, games, rides, contest, clowns, personalities and live music for the entire military family. At the end of these events, the married couples are invited to attend a Patriotic Hearts marriage retreat.

Military Marriage Enrichment Retreats:  Patriotic Hearts has military marriage enrichment retreats to strengthen military and veteran’s marriages. The theme of our retreats is “Love and Respect.” They are held at beautiful resorts. They last from Friday night until Sunday afternoon. We continue to follow each couple closely after the retreats. And we have had wonderful success in keeping marriages and families united. These are 3 day, all-expenses paid retreats.

Marital & PTSD Counseling:  Beginning at our marriage retreats, we connect each couple that requires it with a trained marriage and PTSD therapist. At the end of our retreats we provide the names and contact information of our counselors to each couple. At the conclusion of our Sunday event, we present each couple with a large frame consisting of multiple photos taken of them during the retreat for them to hang on a wall in their home. Whenever there is conflict or need, they are to take the frame down and call a counselor on the back. Often the source of the conflict is rooted in traumatic experiences created during military service.

Military Entertainment Program:

HirePatriots is very fortunate to have the Hip Kitty band be our representatives on US bases and on TV.  They are a highly acclaimed band that has toured the world, visiting and performing for our troops.

HirePatriots and its programs have proven to be vital and greatly appreciated by our U.S. military, veterans and their families. – It is our goal to directly assist 100,000 US veteran a year.

We work with U.S. veteran owned and patriotic businesses and organizations and implement a synergistic cause marketing plan.  In return for your support, we have created an award winning higher cause marketing strategy based on what made HirePatriots so tremendously popular. In return for helping us, we go the extra mile for you.

P.S. If you are able, please support this vital free cause by making a tax deductible donation: http://bit.ly/pG6nMb

Big Tax Credits for Hiring Veterans

Big Tax Credits for Hiring Veterans

Fact Sheet: Returning Heroes and Wounded Warrior Tax Credits

In August, President Obama called on Congress to enact tax credits that will help get veterans back to work. The Returning Heroes Tax Credit provides businesses that hire unemployed veterans with a maximum credit of $5,600 per veteran, and the Wounded Warriors Tax Credit offers businesses that hire veterans with service-connected disabilities with a maximum credit of $9,600 per veteran.

These tax credits were included in the American Jobs Act and were signed into law by President Obama on November 21, 2011.

Returning Heroes and Wounded Warrior Tax Credits

Under the Recovery Act, employers who hired certain unemployed veterans were eligible for a tax credit of up to 40 percent of the first $6,000 of wages, for a maximum credit of $2,400. This credit expired at the end of 2010.

On November 21, 2011, the President signed into law two new tax credits:

• The Returning Heroes Tax Credit is a new hiring tax credit that will provide an incentive for businesses to hire unemployed veterans.

o Short-term unemployed: A new credit of 40 percent of the first $6,000 of wages (up to $2,400) for employers who hire veterans who have been unemployed at least 4 weeks.

o Long-term unemployed: A new credit of 40 percent of the first $14,000 of wages (up to $5,600) for employers who hire veterans who have been unemployed longer than 6 months.

• The Wounded Warrior Tax Credit will double the existing tax credit for long-term unemployed veterans with service-connected disabilities.

o Maintain the existing Work Opportunity Tax Credit for veterans with service-connected disabilities (currently the maximum is $4,800).

o A new credit of 40 percent of the first $24,000 of wages (up to $9,600) for firms that hire veterans with service-connected disabilities who have been unemployed longer than 6 months.

Executive Actions to Get Veterans Back to Work

Earlier this year, the President also announced a series of executive actions to help get veterans back to work.

These initiatives include:

Veteran Gold Card: Post-9/11 veterans can now download the Veteran Gold Card, which entitles them to enhanced services including six months of personalized case management, assessments and counseling, at the roughly 3,000 One-Stop Career Centers located across the country. This could help serve the more than 200,000 unemployed Post-9/11 veterans. The President directed the Department of Labor to launch this initiative in his August 5, 2011 speech at the Navy Yard.

My Next Move for Veterans: The Department of Labor has launched My Next Move for Veterans, a new online resource that allows veterans to enter their military occupation code and discover civilian occupations for which they are well qualified. The site also includes information about salaries, apprenticeships, and other related education and training programs.

Creating a Veterans Job Bank: The Administration launched the Veterans Job Bank, at National Resource Directory, an easy to use tool to help veterans find job postings from companies looking to hire them. It already searches over one million job postings and is growing. In a few easy steps, companies can make sure the job postings on their own websites are part of this Veterans Job Bank. These resources can be accessed at www.whitehouse.gov/vets

Joining Forces: In August, the President challenged the private sector to hire or train 100,000 veterans or military spouses by the end of 2013. The President also asked First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden to lead these efforts with the private sector as part of their Joining Forces initiative. In just over 100 days, more than 1,500 private sector companies have stepped up and already employed more than 18,000 veterans and spouses. In addition, these private sector companies have committed to hiring 135,000 veterans and spouses by the end of 2013, exceeding the President’s challenge. Also included in these private sector employment efforts is a dedicated commitment to hire 5,000 wounded warriors.

Challenging Community Health Centers to Hire 8,000 Veterans in Three Years: The Obama Administration challenged Community Health Centers to hire 8,000 veterans – approximately one veteran per health center site – over the next three years. The health reform law provides funding for community health centers to serve more Americans and hire more workers. The National Association of Community Health Centers will also contribute to this effort and joined the Administration in announcing this Community Health Center Veterans Hiring Challenge.

Helping Veterans Become Physician Assistants: To fast-track medics into jobs in community health centers and other parts of the health care system, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) pledged to open up career-paths beyond nursing and expand opportunities for veterans to become physician assistants. Through this initiative, HRSA will begin to give priority in physician assistant grant awards to universities and colleges that help train veterans for careers as physician assistants.
Together, these initiatives and the tax credits will lower veteran unemployment through increased hiring, improve resources for veterans to translate their military skills for the civilian workforce, and provide veterans with new tools to aid their search for jobs.
