Tori Baird, founder of HirePatriots.com, is stopped by local citizen who wanted to thank her for the help he has gotten from hiring local Marines from her website.

Mark and Tori Baird went to Palm Springs to be on their biggest news station, KESQ. Jeff Stahl, who is the most popular news anchor in that region, gave the interview. He is truly a nice guy. And so he makes it easy to be interviewed.

There are a lot of patriotic people in the news industry. We have always been welcomed on TV and radio. — But it is also our story. HirePatriots does a lot of good for a lot of people.

It is a simple plan that does tremendous good for any community that embraces it. — The thousands of Marines, sailors and vets that we help to earn extra money in San Diego earned us the “Visionary Award for Creating Economic Development.” HirePatriots is one of the most important stimulators of the economy in all of San Diego County. Hundreds of businesses have been able to weather our current economic storm because of our local outreach.

Residents post jobs. GIs take the jobs. — The resident gets their work done. The GI earns extra money. The GI then spends that money at local businesses. And those businesses benefit from HirePatriots.com. — It is a circle of Good. — And we are rapidly spreading this across America. Palm Springs’ radio show host, Lee Rayburn, interviewed us today. We are going to the 29 Palms Marine Base Job fair on September 23, 3 days from now. And we want to get as many jobs posted on HirePatriots.com for the Marines that come to our booth at the job fair as we possibly can.

Lee was a fun interview. Tori was full of energy. We encouraged local residents to post jobs on the site so that Marines could earn money when they are off duty. And we encouraged local businesses to post part time and full time jobs too.

I could have talked about Marine wives, more about the need to hire veterans, and I would have enjoyed telling about some GIs who use the site. I could talk for hours! — Never enough time to say it all!

Tomorrow we appear on the two local TV News channels. And we have gotten the veteran who is helping us a couple of interviews too. — Ward Violanti was in the Air Force. Now he works for the regional leader of HirePatriots for Southern California, California Career School. The owner, Chuck Emanuele, has given us Ward to help pass out fliers around the area, talk to Marines on the base and help us do interviews.
