Yes, we can rebuild our US economy. And the answer is clear and simple: Stimulate Small business growth. – The solution must be a grassroots movement that every American participates in.
Americans need jobs! Our economy must grow. And growth always begins little before it expands and grows into something large. So we must create growth by keeping the small business owner in business, and by providing easy avenues for the entrepreneurial to begin new ones.
The remedy does not need to be complicated and have a huge bureaucracy behind it. In fact, for it to be effective, it must avoid doing things the way our government would do it.
Here is a plan to restore the American economy that is based on real results. And it is a plan that will stimulate our economy immediately. It was a seed of an idea planted several years ago that has grown into a large tree, with its branches expanding across the country. It is a patriotic solution that helps every person and business in America. It is called HirePatriots.com. And it has won awards from President Bush, President Obama, the US Congress and municipalities and counties.
HirePatriots is a free and completely unique job board. There is no other job board like it. It is a means for every American to participate in restoring our national economy. And it begins with helping our US military and veterans. But it is synergistic and ends up helping every citizen and company too. It keeps businesses in business and their employees employed. – HirePatriots was founded in San Diego. And it was there that HirePatriots received the “Visionary Award for Creating Economic Development.”
HirePatriots began when a Marine came home from Iraq and discovered that his wife had lost her job and the family car had been repossessed. He needed to make some extra money quickly. So he just started walking down the street and knocking on doors. He knocked on mine and I gave him work, as others did too. – My wife and I were motivated by his financial crisis, as well as his character and good work, to create a website for more residents to pitch in. We wanted to see how many others would be willing to post jobs for our local military whenever they had work or repairs around their homes and yards. – It took off like a rocket! Within a few months, that little website for Camp Pendleton Marine Base was getting so many visitors that it ranked in top websites in the USA.
Soon, more than a thousand people a day were posting and finding jobs on HirePatriots.com. Every day of the week, local US military and veterans were working at people’s homes and businesses and earning some extra money. And that money was being spent at the local, small businesses, 7 days a week.
Businesses in the North County of San Diego realized that the more people that knew about HirePatriots the more their bottom lines increased. So they began putting up HirePatriots posters in their windows and putting our fliers in their customers’ hands.
Soon everyone in the county was being helped by the HirePatriots program, in one way or another: Of course, the Marines, their families, transitioned Marines and US veterans who had not yet found sustainable employment were helped tremendously. But residents found affordable help, as well as senior citizens and the disabled on limited incomes. And the local businesses saw an increase in sales and were able to keep their employees and even hire more.
There are other beneficial effects on a community too. First, the combat veterans and their families benefit not just from the extra income; but, working with local citizens has been therapeutic for veterans and helped them to heal from the trauma of war. The relationships that are built within the community are very important to these warriors. They have survived battles and seen their buddies die. Knowing that we care and that the loss of their buddies hurts us too is vitally important. — HirePatriots connects caring patriots with those who have defended our liberties and the result is wonderful.
By helping others we become a better person, which in turn makes the lives of those we know better. And the residents and businesses who hire from HirePatriots always experience this.
