HW Systems Engineer

Seeking an experienced HW SYSTEMS ENGINEER for our San Jose, CA Design Center. This position reports to a Technical Product Marketing Manager. We are looking for the hardware systems engineer to work within a multidisciplinary LSI development team. This individual will be expected to understand the architectures of various applications, required technology, system partitioning, life cycles and evolution.
The HW Systems Engineer will support product marketing, sales and LSI development through providing a detailed technical understanding of the various customer applications, from a system level, translating their requirements into a set of feature, functions and block level component specifications. Responsibilities include, but not limited, to manage the customer requirements database, produce systems block diagrams (architectures) for different application including component block diagrams, take ownership of system FMEA within projects, and drive the technology and IP roadmap. Experience in and knowledge of PC, Mobile, and Automotive markets and applications is essential. Must be self-motivated and self-directed and take a positive approach working in a team environment. Must be comfortable participating in multiple projects at the same time and be able to manage his/her time and lead others accordingly.
BS in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, or Digital) or equivalent, MSEE (preferred). A minimum of ten (10) years prior semiconductor experience performing and providing technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration and testing of complex hardware systems. At least 5 years LSI design experience. Within the last five (5) years, development and integration experience in mobile/portable systems. Within the last seven (7) years, a minimum of five (5) years experience with the functionality and inter-processing of, e.g., Intel devices, Bluetooth, audio/video-based solutions. A minimum of three (3) years demonstrated experience providing technical leadership to team members. Highly fluent in English; bilingual skills preferred English/Mandarin or, also, English/Japanese. Ability to travel approximate 30% of the time (domestic and international).
