Full-time Pricing Analyst II

Summary: A Senior Pricing Analyst has all of the basic skills of a Pricing Analyst, but is also able to utilize information to make decisions and to initiate dialogue with various internal customers. This position will support SPR pricing strategy and initiatives that focus on margin improvement for SPR. The successful candidate will work closely with the merchandising, marketing, MID, executive, General Managers, DVPs and sales groups to develop appropriate pricing for contracts and measure profitability of customers and products. Duties will include data manipulation and analysis, and will include interaction with dealers on their margin initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific responsibilities of the Pricing Analyst include:
• Working with merchandising, marketing and sales, will develop a clear understanding of the current pricing process and philosophy and serving as a pricing consultant.
• Understand the competitive market conditions that affect pricing and provide ongoing analysis of those shifting conditions and their impact on margins and sales
• Utilize models to illustrate price performance and areas for price and margin opportunity and improvement while also maintaining and improving market share
• Make recommendations for pricing changes that result in new approaches to pricing gains and streamlines the process to improve efficiency and customer service
• Successfully influence and manage internal relationships to achieve the agreed to price and margin objectives.
• Trains internal SPR customers on various tools to improve profit dollars.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Specifically:
• Ability to utilize Microsoft tools (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word) for significant data manipulation and presentations. Excel skills should include the ability to use vlookups, pivot tables, graphing, and sub-totals.
• Ability to work with DVPs and GMs on margin enhancement projects.
• Ability to work with numerous cross-functional teams to implement software and effect successful change management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor's degree is required. An MBA or other graduate degree, or work toward a graduate degree, is desired.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

This position requires up to 15% of travel.
