In Defense of The Wounded Warrior Project

Posted by on in News
Recently CBS and some other news and media agencies have publicized some areas of concern about how donations to The Wounded Warrior Project, a premier veteran charity, have been spent. The criticism focuses mostly on expenditures on trips, meetings, conventions, hotels and first class airfare. But they failed to say that those expenses were just about 7% of their total revenue. Posted by on in News
Advice from a CEO You have lived long and accomplished a lot. You know that you can be an effective employee for a company if given the opportunity. You have a proven track record. And you have written a thorough list of it all. However, the purpose of a resume is not to get a job; it is to get an interview. So we do not want to give our entire work history, just highlights that will spark interest so the company will invite you in to hear more. Instead of long list of your duties and accomplishments, summarize them. The ideal...

From Homeless Vet to hiring Vets!

Posted by on in Jobs For Veterans
A single day's work can be transformative for any Veteran, especially one fighting his way back from homelessness and addiction. Faith of Our Fathers arrives in theaters on July 1st.  Fathers’ Day is coming up,  and Faith of Our Fathers  is a great way to celebrate the Godly Fathers. The film begins  with Vietnam War raging in 1969,  as  two young fathers report for duty. A man of great faith and a doubtful cynic. A quarter-century later, their sons, Wayne and John Paul (David A.R. White and Kevin Downes), meet as strangers. Guided by letters handwritten from their fathers from the battlefield, they embark on an unforgettable journey to The Wall—the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Along the way, they...

Why Celebrate “Memorial Day?”

Posted by on in News
Memorial Day 2015: Why? What Does it mean? Since 9/11/01 America has lost over 10,000 Americans, 8,000+ of these citizens were those that volunteered to join the US military after that heinous attack. On May 25, 2015 we will all share a responsibility and a duty to honor these beloved men and women of our nation. Unlike “Veterans Day” that honors all US veterans, Memorial Day is dedicated to those who have given their lives while in US military service. It is a day of remembrance for their sacrifices. It is the least that we as a nation can do. The...
