Many Veterans are returning home after answering our nations call of duty that was sparked right after the 9/11.
Do you remember how you felt on that day? Do you remember what you were doing at that very moment you heard the news that a plane struck one of the World Trade towers? I do, like it was yesterday. But what I remember the most a decade later was how a nation came together and how many answered the call to serve.
As an American I am thankful and appreciate that so many of our men and women stepped up to engage the enemy where they hide. It should not matter what politcal views you have or what your position is on war… the point I want to make here is that we owe the free lives we live to our military/Veterans. Enough said!
The urgency behind this message is on behalf of our Veterans now returning home. I believe we owe our Veterans all levels of support in helping them find employment opportunities. Remember, the fight for freedom also benefits corporate America and business owners. This message is for those of you in a position to make a difference in the hiring of Veterans. If I can influence a large corporation like Verizon to make reasonable accommodations and small investments in hiring Veterans, I know you can too.
Many companies want to employ Veterans but are not sure how to do it effectively and think that doing so will require a large dollar investment. I can tell you right now it does not! But it will take a commitment. There are many government programs and not for profit organizations that exist solely to help employ Veterans, military spouses and Wounded Warriors. All you need to do is tap into these resources to get skilled Veterans applying to your jobs.
If you want to know what these resources are or interested in hearing how to develop a targeted recruitment strategy please feel free to contact me at Evan.Guzman24@gmail.com.
