Do Veterans deserve a special chance?
With the rise of unemployment in our country today some may ask why should Veterans have a special opportunity to find work. Well, as a Veteran myself I can tell you that Veterans not only deserve a chance; their service and experience gives them unique qualities that allows them to adapt to many job positions quickly. Businesses are facing a Tsunami of changes in the current workplace and they can use men and woman that have beaten the odds in much worse situations.
When I left the military, I felt as if my life had lost purpose. Being in combat was one of the greatest privileges I have experienced in my life and it truly makes you respect the smallest of things. For me the best part was the soldiers standing next to me. For us when we were over there, we didn’t care about the why and who, we just wanted to get each other home safely while accomplishing our mission without sacrificing our principles and values. Have Veterans made mistakes? I can’t pretend to speak for all Veterans but I know I have for sure. No one is perfect, regardless of their background. It took me many years to realize that I needed to help other Veterans not make the same mistakes I did when I first got out. This is why I have recently got involved by sponsoring HirePatriots in Orlando, FL.
HirePatriots.com is a place for Veterans and businesses to connect free of charge. Simply go to www.HirePatriots.com and find your local area to search or post job listings. So do Veterans deserve a special chance? I am sure many people out their could play devils advocate but I can tell you one thing for sure; they have certainly sacrificed for you to have a chance.
