Harry's HirePatriots Story

In addition to our full time job board HirePatriots also offers a "Day Jobs" board.  This is a board for residents to post chores they need help

Why is a temporary job board important? Why is it important?  Let me tell you a short story.

Harry is a veteran who could not stay in the military.  He sustained an injury
while in the military and could not stay in the service.  Harry wanted to serve at least
20 years but it was not to be.

Harry is smart, educated, well spoken, and underemployed.  He has experienced
Layoffs and downsizing in the last few years.  He is married with 3 children.
He is not lazy.

Recently, Harry discovered our one day job board.  He has helped local residents move on his day off. The $100.00 he earned that day helps Harry keep his head above water. He has also taken jobs that involved painting and yard work.  Most of the jobs are general labor.  Once, he drove a veteran to a medical procedure, dropped him off and picked him up. The Senior citizen insisted that he be paid, eventhough Harry was willing to just help out.

Our one day/temp job board is most active in San Diego.  My dear husband Mark and
I are working tirelessly to spread this concept across the country. --  it is not our only
mission. The ultimate goal is a full time job for every military spouse and veteran.
We are furthering that mission everyday thru our free full time job board.

How can you help?

1.  No matter what part of the country you live in, look around your house
and post a job.  Almost all of us can find a simple job to post to thank our
Active duty military, veterans and their spouses in a practical way.
Tell your neighbors to do the same.

2.  Encourage your local chamber to post a one day job when they have business
Expos or similar events.  The Oceanside Chamber in Oceanside CA. has been
posting jobs and helping to spread the word since 2005.  They love the work
ethic of our veterans.

3.  Volunteer.  Are you retired?  This mission is a nationwide effort.
We need your help.  There is a lot to do.  This mission is really important.

4.  Put on our coffee fundraiser in your area.  Partner with your local church,
School or favorite non-profit.  Our story is on the back of every bag.
It is designed to create jobs.

5.  Consider starting a local HirePatriots job board in your area.
It will help your local veteran and military families and provide
tremendous PR for your business.

Again, a full-time job for every military spouse and veteran is our ultimate goal.
But if they can't pay needed bills during their job search their journey will be much harder.

Veterans in San Diego tell me all the time that these one day jobs help them to
keep their heads above water, maintain their dignity and make lifelong friendships.

We need your help to get this going all over the country.  If you think what my husband has
created is brilliant and makes good sense (I Do!) then kindly pitch in.

Hello, I'm Mark Baird and I founded Hire Patriots. My wife and I are 'helpers.' We are concerned about meeting the practical needs of our US veterans veterans and their families. We began a job board for local residents to post chores that they need help with. It has been very successful. Thousands of local US Military and veterans partially or entirely support themselves from our website. We are looking for others near US Military bases who would also like to have a website for their location. We also hold welcome home parties, military marriage retreats, job fairs and create military family gardens.
