Some time ago, my neighbor was having work done at her home and shared with me how excellent the work was done by a local US veteran. — I am now getting some work done around my home, and I am following her advice.
I spoke with Tori Baird who shared with me that they are now in the process of introducing their HirePatriots program across the United States. — Simply it is using the abilities of very well trained individuals who are used to following orders well.
I am also impressed with the entire premise which started locally. This is the Website: http://www.hirepatriots.com/. — There is a Day Job tab, as well as one to fill full or part time positions.
I posted my needs so that I could qualify the individual on the phone. I also asked for references. The job board says these US veterans and their spouses may be paid hourly or by the day, the amount that your budget can afford, as long as the rate is reasonable. I like that no one gets your money except the veteran you hire.
The active duty Marine I spoke with today honestly admitted that he was not qualified to do the irrigation work I needed. So I asked him come over to repair a ceiling fan. Then he asked me for the model # so he could research it before coming over. He also told me that he will find the qualified irrigation person from the many Marines he knows on Camp Pendleton. I am ready to meet this young man.
I did tell Tori, who helped create HirePatriots, that I will spread the word. And I have already called my New Jersey brother to ask him to do so as well. I feel good about this program, and would appreciate anyone, wherever you may live, to share this as well. Why not?

Thank you HirePatriots! And thank you everyone else who pitches in!
