Join Our Calling: Helping Others

Posted by on December 15, 2012 in News

I do not make this obvious but HirePatriots is a ‘Helps’  ministry. At least, it is to me, my wife and most of our HirePatriots members. — We take the time and the effort to promote this unique way of helping US veteran and their families. They are our ‘mission field.’ — Many of us actually experience an inner- confidence and assurance that this is our ‘higher calling.’ By that, I mean that it often seems that our motivation is greater than anything we could generate by our own mere reason or emotion. It is easy to believe that we have been ‘chosen’ to participate in this patriotic cause.

It is amazing that so many Christians contact us every week and ask how they can help us. But what is more incredible is that they all confess to feeling led to call us. — And my wife and I know exactly what they mean. — We have never worked so hard and continuously on anything. There is never a ‘day off.’ Almost every waking hour of every day is devoted to fulfilling the “Call” placed upon our lives. — And yet we do not feel over-worked nor has our enthusiasm for what we do slacked. In fact, we are renewed each day by a fountain of living water flowing within us and out of us.

We rarely know the people who post jobs on our site and who are helped by these jobs. Only a fraction of HirePatriots.com visitors contact us and tell us about their experience. Oh how we wish that there were more! Because these letters, emails and phone calls from companies, residents, senior citizens, military spouses and veterans are like bread from Heaven. They give us even more strength and encouragement! (Here are a few for you to read. You’ll see what I mean: http://bit.ly/TY2YTN

Our mission is simply to: Create a Nationwide Employment Safety Net for US Veterans. — Plus, as we have endeavored to create this network, we have created multiple other programs to help US veterans. http://bit.ly/Vy301d. — It is also a big responsibility to know that we have the means to help so many, probably millions this decade. — Therefore, we must be sure to walk with God in faith and obedience. Otherwise, we will be responsible for NOT helping the people we could have.

God is blessing us in so many ways! We meet so many wonderful patriots whose lives are also dedicated to helping others. We do not compete with their organization’s efforts.  We promote them and help them to raise funds for what God has called them to do too. — We find ways to help eachother. — This may not seem prudent or natural to a lot of people. I know, because I hear from them all of the time. — Just yesterday, I posted a blog on a social network about what we do to help veterans. I got an immediate angry response from that LinkedIn group director saying that he did not want me to post anymore because he had his own non-profit and wanted his connections to donate and to support him. And this does make sense in an ‘earthly’ way. But we follow a Heavenly principle: “Give and it will be given back to you, in fact you will receive such an abundance in return that your storehouse will not be able to hold it all.” But it does require faith in God to live this way.

So if you are wondering why God made you and what you are supposed to be doing, please pray about joining our Helps ministry.

Hello, I'm Mark Baird and I founded Hire Patriots. My wife and I are 'helpers.' We are concerned about meeting the practical needs of our US veterans veterans and their families. We began a job board for local residents to post chores that they need help with. It has been very successful. Thousands of local US Military and veterans partially or entirely support themselves from our website. We are looking for others near US Military bases who would also like to have a HirePatriots.com website for their location. Find more information about our military programs at PatrioticHearts.org. And please make a contribution of any kind. Thank you.
