How to Advocate for US Military & Veterans in your Community
Patriotic Hearts, a non-profit that advocates and assists US veterans, is seeking men and women that want to speak-up on behalf of our military members, past and present, on TV, radio, in the press and at meetings, clubs and chambers.
It is critical for the US citizenry and businesses to be educated and reminded about the value of military service, as well as our common obligation to properly care for the wounded, the widows and orphans, and our national responsibility to help them to transition successfully back into civilian employment.
History has taught us that the public is fickle: their moods can shift like the wind. We cannot ever take their support for granted. We must be vigilant and keep the sacrifices and accomplishments of US veterans in the forefront of their hearts and minds.
This is done best by veterans sharing their personal stories. Two age old adages support this: “There is nothing better than hearing it straight from the horse’s mouth.” — And “Facts tell; but, stories sell!”
Can you talk about the positive effects that military training and service built into you? What are the hardships, struggles, and stresses that military life imposes on its members and their families? Did you face any difficulties when you transitioned out of the military? What character qualities developed through military service did you call upon to get through rough times? Why should citizens continue to support US military, veterans and their families? How can citizens and companies help?
This is How We Get US Veterans in the Media
Patriotic Hearts has developed a unique community program that gets continuous invitations by all media outlets for interviews, features and speeches. (Including PEOPLE Magazine). It connects local US military with their neighbors in the surrounding communities. It provides a daily source of extra income for US veterans and their spouses. — We provide a simple One Day/Off Duty job board for communities to use whenever they need an extra hand with chores and repairs around their homes, yards, farms, ranches and businesses.
This simple job board has had many profound effects! Over 100,000 US veterans have been helped. Besides providing critically needed extra income, daily, it creates a network of civilian supporters for individual military members, veterans and their spouses that help them while in the military and while transitioning. – This unique and one-of-a-kind job board has won awards from our last two US Presidents and Congress. It has won awards for stimulating local economies. It has been voted the number 1 News story of the year in San Diego. It has been featured on NBC Nightly News, FOX National Business News and many more. Our representatives have had hundreds of public speaking opportunities, as well as media appearances and recordings. Click HERE.
I have even written a book that gives you step-by-step instructions on how to get your own HirePatriots program started: The Patriotic Business Plan: Strategies for Sensational Success.
If you own a business, or if you are a school, organization or club, this website and job board can make you famous. My wife and I cannot go anywhere in San Diego, on base or off, without being recognized. And we live in an area that has 3.2 million people. It is entirely because we have been the spokespeople for HirePatriots program.
Recently, we have been asking Bryan Wiggins, a USMC veteran, to speak on our behalf. In the last two weeks he has appeared on TV, in the major newspaper of our area (San Diego Union Tribune) and on 9 local radio shows. He has also given a speech to a local business group. He also has recorded a 30 minute interview on Public Access TV.
Bryan is helping to educate people about the value of US veterans. By doing so, he is also becoming increasingly famous, and his business, Sol Rey West is exploding!
We provide everything you need: training, scripts, posters & fliers, graphics, videos, power points, a website and job board, and regular mentoring and support. We give you list of every media outlet in your region and a letter for you to request an interview.
We need US veterans who can speak well on TV, radio and in public about our HirePatriots free One Day job board for US veterans. This must be the ‘tip of the spear’ in order to receive media. Those interviews will also include room for your personal military and transition experience, as well as information about what you are doing now. — These spokespeople must understand that the foundation of getting this media ball rolling is first to get some One Day jobs posted and taken from their community websites. Media outlets will want to interview these people.
If you want to participate, one of the first thing we will do together is to find a business sponsor for you, (if you do not already own a business yourself.) This will compensate our charity for its costs and yours.
I cannot elucidate all of the many extra perks and advantages that you will also receive as your area’s premier US veteran spokesperson.
