A US Veteran’s Story
Joe Padlo had a good job. He was financially comfortable. He had transitioned well after being in Marine Corps for 12 years. He was a manager, Regional Director, VP, and President as he advanced in his career. But he wasn’t satisfied. He felt a need to do more with his life. Then he read about an opportunity to own a business that employs other US veterans. He decided to give it a shot.
US Military Maintenance is a program of the nationally respected non-profit Patriotic Hearts that focuses on assisting US military, veterans and their families. USMM offers business ownership to entrepreneurs that commit to hiring US veterans as their employees.
Joe received everything he needed to get started: website, business cards, shirts, equipment, bid sheets, agreements and professional mentoring. At first, Joe struggled to get his first accounts. He was trying to do things the way he had been taught and what had made him a success with his other endeavors. But it was the same method of searching for new accounts as every other business in commercial maintenance was using. He wasn’t getting anywhere.
As part of his business start-up kit, Joe had received a book, The Patriotic Business Plan. It gives step-by-step instructions on how the author flew to tremendous success by using this unique, 21st century method for marketing his business. It is especially powerful for veteran owned and military friendly businesses. – Joe decided to give it a try.
As a result, many influential business executives and owners began being introduced to him. They were eager to join Joe in his effort to employ other US veterans. They offered him work, made important introductions, arranged meetings, speaking engagements, media interviews and helped him secure new accounts for his fledgling US Military Maintenance business. — Soon, Joe was hiring veterans to work with him.
A top ranked officer in the Navy gave him an opportunity to bid on a 200,000 sq. ft. facility. A property management company that rents super mansions gave him all of their business. An exclusive country club for the very rich gave him their account. He did such great work for them that they are now offering him more accounts across the state.
Joe Padlo does excellent work and so do the US veterans working for him. They have an esprit de corps. Everyone on Joe’s teams believes in what they are doing: working together to build this business to be as large as it can be so that hundreds, maybe thousands of other US veterans can work with them. These US veterans are committed to getting every account ‘military clean.’ This is the spit and polish attention to detail and brilliance every US military recruit starts learning from their first day until they transition back to civilian life. — All of Joe’s US Military Maintenance clients are more than impressed with the results. They are bragging about how clean their homes and offices are!
