United Truck Driving School

Posted by on October 15, 2014 in Jobs For Veterans

United Truck Driving School has been successfully training truck drivers since 1978. Graduates are able to take their commercial license and go to work for any company they want. There is no specific obligation of employment after graduation. Students who are eligible will have pre-employment offers before they graduate and can select the company that they want to go to work for as soon as the graduate. The commercial driver’s license is issued through the DMV using training equipment that belongs to United and students graduate with a license issued by the State of California. United Truck Driving School is accredited and can accept the Post 9/11 GI Bill as well as Workforce and Rehab funding. Our programs are as follows:

Class A/P CDL / 4.5 week / 186 hour program

The Class A/P CDL program combines both the Class A and Class BP programs into one 4.5-week course. This course is offered every two weeks. The program includes general knowledge, combinations, airbrakes, doubles/triples, tanks, hazmat and passenger endorsement. A Class A/P license allows a driver to operate any legal combination of vehicles or buses, including Class B and Class C vehicles. Students will have hands on training in pre-trip inspection / COLA-P, skills and road to prepare for the DMV tests. The graduating student will have complete training driving both big rigs and passenger buses.

Class A CDL / 4 week / 160 hour program

The Class A CDL program begins every two weeks. A Class A license allows a driver to operate any legal combination of vehicles, including Class B and Class C vehicles. This program includes everything mentioned above except bus driving and passenger endorsement.

Class B/P CDL / 3 week / 120 hour program

This Class B/P program includes general knowledge, air brakes, tanks, hazmat and passenger endorsement. A Class B/P license allows a driver to operate a single vehicle with a GVWR of more than 26,000 lbs or a passenger bus. Students will have hands on training in pre-trip inspection / COLA-P, skills and road to prepare for the DMV tests. The graduating student will complete training driving a passenger bus.

Mark Baird

Hello, I'm Mark Baird and I founded Hire Patriots. My wife and I are 'helpers.' We are concerned about meeting the practical needs of our US veterans veterans and their families. We began a job board for local residents to post chores that they need help with. It has been very successful. Thousands of local US Military and veterans partially or entirely support themselves from our website. We are looking for others near US Military bases who would also like to have a HirePatriots.com website for their location. Find more information about our military programs at PatrioticHearts.org. And please make a contribution of any kind. Thank you.
