The SC&R Foundation (Specialized Carriers & Rigging Foundation) is a 501c3 organization serving the specialized transportation, crane, millwright, and rigging industries around the globe. The Foundation focuses on education, reducing the labor shortage and industry specific research as the philanthropic arm of the SC&RA (Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association) an international trade association with more than 1300 member companies.
The Foundation’s pursues education and addresses the labor shortage through its scholarship/grant program and partnerships with organizations like HirePatriots. The Scholarship/Grant program awards around $32,000 in scholarships and grants each year. Scholarships are awarded to students pursuing a bachelor’s or masters degree and grant recipients are looking to improve their skills through vocational courses like diesel mechanics or welding. The industry-specific research the Foundation invests in includes transportation reports, economic reports, reference guides and DVD training programs.
