I have been married for over 30 years. She has been my one and only for almost half of my life. I have written and published a book of 50 poems for her. I titled it The Breeze of Romance, and I included some paintings by my father, a renowned artist in his lifetime, to illustrate it. I’ve written it for other couples in love to enjoy too. — This is my opening poem.
My Songs’ Source
I shall never fill this world enough
With praises of my wife.
Like soft waltzes, I make my poetry sing
Writing these for her.
And so I shall all of my life.
There are other issues, profound and pressing
Which deserve my consideration and concern,
But nothing else stirs my soul with such passion
Nor makes my heart with fire burn.
Its not just the curves of my woman
But also her countenance and soft eyes,
That can cause me to feel like some seagull
Who, carried by wind, over the ocean glides.
What she possess that is most amazing
Is something which my eyes cannot see
More than all her feminine beauty,
Exists her constant love for me.
