Who Is a ‘Wounded Warrior?”

Officially, we have over a half a million (500,000) men and women in America who have suffered wounds from combat, either visible or invisible to the common eye. Not only are our 52,000 amputees considered wounded warriors. We have 320,000 who have suffered debilitating brain injuries, both organically and psychologically.  – These numbers comprise the veterans and military who incurred their wounds after September 11. There are hundreds of thousands more when other generations are included.

These US military members and veterans are special to our American citizenry because of their sacrifices and ongoing suffering. They have been special to me since the Vietnam War; and they are for Patriotic Hearts, my veteran non-profit that assists them. We provide Careers, Day-by-Day jobs, Job Fairs, Job Finding assistance, our own Business Opportunities, and Marriage Retreats.

Please assist us by spreading the word about our Car Donations. The more unwanted cars and trucks we receive, the more wounded warriors we can assist. and the more resources we will have to do so. It is our primary source of funding. (https://www.cardonation2veterans.com/)

P.S. I have worked alongside these men and women for 50 years. It is my  honor to do so. Tens of thousands of these wounded warriors show up to work everyday. Most if not all of their co-workers may know nothing about their injuries and experiences. It is not something that most want to share. You may very well be working in an office with a few wounded warriors too.  — Mark Baird
