There is a unique and free community job board available for any city or community for US military and veterans. It allows residents to post their chores around their homes and yards and to hire a local US Military person or a US Veteran, or their spouse. Gardening, cleaning, repairs, hauling, moving, … There is always a local US military person or veteran who needs to work and earn extra money.
This unique job board was created in 2005 in San Diego, where there are 3 military bases. It became a sensation overnight. The supervisors, mayors, and chambers of commerce all supported this program. It was heralded on every TV News and radio station, and on the front page of every newspaper. We were invited to speak at a myriad of businesses, associations, political rallies, etc. Our website was receiving 40,000 visits a month!
That is when we began giving these HirePatriots job boards to communities around the country so that they could assist their local military and veterans too. We also wrote a book on how to get this started in any community, The Patriotic Business Plan.
