As a pastor, whenever I post anything encouraging, and uplifting, and hopeful on LinkedIn that uses a biblical verse I am always insistently told by some that “Religion has no place on LinkedIn.” – I disagree. And as a successful businessman, with a sizeable following on LinkedIn, here is why.
In order to achieve true and complete success in life one must integrate and balance the physical, the material, and the spiritual elements of being human. Every good Human Resource executive knows this. Being rich and having a beautiful body has never been enough to achieve fulfillment and real happiness. Without the feeding of our souls, we will always be hungry for more.
Most people confess to believe in some God or higher power. Well over 50% of the world’s population confesses to be either Christian, Catholic. Muslim, or Jewish. They all share a faith in God and most believe in the truth of the Old and New Testaments in the Bible. For such believers, self actualization, mindfulness, sobriety, and financial and personal success are achieved by faith. – Therefore, I insist that occasional posts that mention God, faith, and fulfillment are a critical aspect of being a good employee, business owner, and leader.
