I am a 22 year old Active Duty Marine! While maintaining my Active Duty military status, I work a Part time Job in a deli. I have maintained and succeeded in this job for two years while stationed on Camp Pendleton. My primary duties involve customer service, slicing deli meats to order, creating sandwiches, and providing a positive environment to my coworkers and customers.
Before joining the Marine Corps I worked in a local Artisan bakery for about 4 years. My duties here were to ensure the freshest products were made and delivered to customers. I made and baked from scratch daily cookies, scones, bread, granola, muffins, cakes, and various other pastry and bread items. In addition to baking, I was responsible for the cleanliness of the facility. This included cleaning industrial baking equipment, rotating stock, and the daily clean up of floors, walls, and restrooms. While working this job I also loaded and unloaded trucks and pallets of food delivery items. In addition to food, I moved and loaded bakery machinery into cargo vans, and delivery trucks.
While working in the bakery and attending college full time I also worked in a grocery store for a year before leaving to go to Marine Corps boot camp. Within this grocery store I worked in the deli and provided customers with fresh foods and a positive experience!
During the summers while I was working, I created a small business named Colin's Clippings. I created,designed, and printed local flyers to provide my neighborhood and surrounding communities with. I offered competitive and affordable lawn care and landscaping to my clients. I started with my Fathers lawn mower and eventually built up enough business to purchase my own along with various other yard care equipment machines. I built up a steady stream of clients and providing affordable and friendly customer service to people of all different backgrounds.
While maintaining my Active Duty status in the Marine Corps, I hope to gain opportunities to save money , meet people, and work with a variety of people. I am fortunate enough to have dealt with a variety of tasks that can differ daily. I have worked and communicated with people of various backgrounds. All this is going to help me achieve my dream goal of creating and owning my very own small business!
Education
I attended Catonsville High School located in Baltimore County from 2008-2012. While attending Catonsville High I placed in the top quarter of my graduating class of 472 people.
Experience
My primary duties are to serve men and women of the military, along with their spouses premium Deli meats and bakery items. I work this job part time while maintaining my Active Duty military status!
I am currently a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. My primary duties are to lead, instruct, and motivate junior Marines in order to fill gaps in the commanders decision making process.
While working at Harris Teeter I was responsible for the daily production of fresh foods within the Deli and bakery. I was responsible for providing customers with an extraordinary experience in order to increase sales and increase the number of customers.
I was responsible for the production and delivery of daily artisan bakery products. In addition to this I was responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of the bakery equipment and facility. I lead and instructed co workers on various recipes and operating procedures within the bakery.
Colin's Clippings was a local and seasonal lawn care service business I created. I served local neighbors within the Baltimore County Community. I would landscape for these neighbors on a weekly basis and develop customer relationships in order to increase sales and provide them with an unbeatable service.
