2010 – 2013

 

Senior Non Commissioned Officer in an Infantry Weapons Platoon, consisting of thirteen Marines specialized in Urban Breaching, Improvised Demolitions, Ballistic, Mechanical, Thermal Breaching and, enemy obstacle destruction while deployed to Sangin, Afghanistan from March 21st 2011 to October 13th 2011in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 1-1.

 

  • Analyzed operation orders; interfaced with supporting units and advised to meet mission requirements, training goals and objectives.
  • Provided key insight in the use of explosives in order to make entry into suspected enemy strong points.
  • Trained Marines in conducting low light/Night explosive entry, mechanical breaching, ballistic breaching, urban breach team tactics, and target intelligence gathering in preparation for combat deployment to Afghanistan.
  • Trained Marines in Tactical Tracking Operations making them capable of utilizing these skills, techniques and tactics to conduct Pressure, Pursuit, Positive Identification and Interdiction Operations (P3I) of enemy forces in preparation for Deployment to Afghanistan.

Urban Breaching Combat Instructor, 1st Marine Division, Headquarters Battalion

Responsible for the training of Marines in basic personal security, as part of the Personal Security Detachment Course, and training Marines in Urban Breaching Tactics as part of the Infantry Assault man Course.

 

  • Developed course curriculum as part of the Infantry Assaultman Course/Urban Breacher Course.
  • Trained Marines in Urban Breaching Tactics to include explosive safety, types of explosive accessories, preparation and firing of charges using shock tube initiated blasting caps, response to misfires/reacting to misfired charges, calculating net explosive weight, safe stacking distance, internal overpressure, breaching wood and metal doors, breaching windows, breaching walls, defeating barricaded doors, tactical charge placement drills, multiple breach point entries, developing standard operating procedures and the breachers brief back format.
  • Trained Marines in Close Quarters Battle techniques and Room Clearing; incorporating explosive, mechanical, ballistic and thermal breaching tactics allowing them to possess the necessary skills in order to perform more advanced breaching tactics associated with doors, windows, roofs, floors, and walls in preparation for deployment to Afghanistan.
  • Trained Marines in the correct and safe use of the 12 gage breaching shotgun which include history and theory of ballistic breaching, ballistic breaching techniques, and planning considerations.
  • Provided key insight in the development of unit standard operating procedures (SOP) for the employment of explosives, in preparation for deployment to combat.
  • Trained Marines in Personal Security Detachment (PSD), Procedures, Team Formations and Battle Tactics.
  • Trained Marines in Personal Security Detachment (PSD) vehicle formations.
  • Trained Marines in Tactical Tracking Operations making them capable of utilizing these skills, in pursuit of enemy forces in preparation for deployment to Afghanistan.

Squad Leader, 1st Battalion 4th Marines

Oversaw and responsible for the accountability, training, physical conditioning, morale and welfare of fifteen Marines while deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

 

  • Trained Marines on Infantry squad Tactics, Techniques and Procedures to ensure and maintain 100% combat readiness in preparation for deployment to Iraq.
  • Successfully lead combat patrols while deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
  • Successfully lead foot mobile reconnaissance missions in order to observe enemy movement in suspected areas while deployed to Iraq.
  • Performed foot mobile long range and short range reconnaissance patrols then developed and briefed to senior decision makers a daily risk assessment that was critical to the success of counter intelligence operations.

Responsible for the operation of office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems, and personal computers. Maintained and updated filing, inventory, mailing, and database systems, either manually or using a computer. Compiled, copied, sorted, and filed records of office activities, business transactions, and other activities.

 

  • Maintained and updated tracking systems that kept track of personnel and personnel pay of over one hundred Marines deployed to Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
