Why You Should Start Your Own Business

Basically, everyone has two choices: To own a business, or to work for someone that does. The difference is immense.

I became a business owner when I was twenty (45 years ago). It is one of the best decisions I ever made. I am so glad that I did. It has permitted me to live comfortably, take great vacations, spend a lot of time with my wife and kids, become a Boy Scout leader, coach all my kids’ sports teams (even to coach at my old high school), live in beautiful places,  send my wife and our children to good colleges, and to support my church and charitable organizations. – Owning my own business gave me the resources to start a non-profit (Patriotic Hearts) that has helped tens of thousands of U.S. veterans, residents, and businesses across America.

I truly believe that the two greatest blessings that Democracy and Free Enterprise provide us are the freedoms to believe in the God we choose (or not); and the opportunity to achieve our personal dreams through the utilization of our inherent tenacity, genius and abilities.

I am a convinced believer and exponent of the quintessential American philosophy: Any person in our country can lift themselves to greater heights of economic freedom, if they have the inherent character trait that being successful requires. By this I mean: There are two kinds of people in this world: Those who persist in always doing their best and inspiring others to do so too, and then those that are just trying to get by with the smallest effort possible.

Business owners are leaders. With exceptional courage, due to personal confidence, consideration, and practicality, they provide products that consumers want and desire. They require excellence from their employees. They are extremely competitive, no less than any athlete in the Superbowl or Olympics. They always seek to win, and are willing to do whatever it takes to do so.

Now, in my advancing years, I am turning back, lifting up other Americans that possess these qualities, particularly U.S. veterans and their ardent supporters, and showing them how to become what I have been: A successful, American business owner.

I have written two best-sellers on Amazon. My latest is The Patriotic Business Plan: Strategies for Sensational Success. This book outlines the method I have developed to lift hundreds of businesses to greater success throughout the United States. Business as large as Verizon and across the spectrum to mom & pops.

I have also created a business for U.S. veterans and citizens that appreciate them to own. It is the same business that I started 45 years ago, and which has carried me comfortably throughout my life. It is a simple business that is easy to start and extremely lucrative within the first year. – I began this business for patriots more than a year ago. It is called U.S. Military Maintenance. Almost every owner is a recent U.S. war veteran. But I have a couple of non-U.S. Military citizens that respect to them that have started this business too. Recently, the first two to reach their one-year mark reported earnings in excess of $250K. Their 5-year goal is to earn $3M a year. They both had extensive combat deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan, so it is especially rewarding to have assisted these exemplary Americans in achieving business success quickly. Even more than that is the joy expressed by these U.S. service disabled, war veterans that they experience daily because every day they are employing other U.S. Veterans like themselves, and are able to pay them a good wage. – Twenty-two others have joined them in this enterprise this year. Interviews by some of these US Military Maintenance owners are found at Friends of Veterans Radio.

Regardless of what business you choose to do, I am here to help you achieve success if you agree to assist me in achieving mine. Do something that you will enjoy. Then help me to accomplish what I enjoy: Employing U.S. veterans at a livable wage.

If you are in the U.S. military, a U.S. veteran that owns or wants to own a business, or an American patriot that will find pleasure in helping our current and former U.S. military members by owning one that will, let me know. Let’s talk.

Spending the hours of your life lifting up others will give you a joy and a peace that transcends any earthly pleasures. This is what a good business owner experiences. knows, and enjoys.
